STATS ROUND-UP: Razgatlioglu matches Fogarty for WorldSBK poles, surpasses Sykes for Donington wins
‘El Turco’ continues to make WorldSBK history with a Donington treble as he claimed the lead of the Championship for the first time since the end of the 2024 campaign
The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship’s visit to Donington Park is in the record books, with Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) taking a treble and, with it, the Championship lead. We’ve looked at the numbers to find the key stats, facts and milestones following the Prosecco DOC UK Round.
300 – Race 2 at Donington Park was Michael van der Mark's (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) 300th start.
118 – Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) took his 118th WorldSBK rostrum in Race 2 with P3. His podium tally is one behind Jonathan Rea's (Pata Maxus Yamaha) win tally.
69-241-243 – Razgatlioglu’s Race 2 victory was his 69th in WorldSBK, taken in his 243rd start. For comparison, it took Rea two fewer races to record his 69th win.
100-90 – BMW claimed their 100th podium finish in the Superpole Race, while Razgatlioglu’s Race 1 win was BMW’s 90th race where they finished on the podium.
58 – Razgatlioglu took his 58th fastest lap, putting him level with Noriyuki Haga in second place in the all-time list. Only Rea, with 104, has more.
50-2-1 – The Tissot Superpole Race was Sam Lowes's (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) 50th start in WorldSBK, and he took his second rostrum in the Championship; his first on home soil.
42 – Bulega has 42 podiums to his name in WorldSBK, in just 57 races. 22 of these have been second-place finishes behind Razgatlioglu.
30-44 – Razgatlioglu secured his 30th BMW win, out of the 44 the German manufacturer have in WorldSBK.
21 – Razgatlioglu claimed his 21st career pole position, putting him level with four-time Champion Carl Fogarty in fifth place in the all-time list.
12 – Razgatlioglu took his 10th, 11th and 12th wins at Donington, becoming the outright record holder for wins at the UK circuit (previously nine, held by Tom Sykes). He’s also only the second rider, after Jonathan Rea (Pata Maxus Yamaha), to have 10 or more wins at two different venues.
4 – P4 in Superpole was Rea’s first single-digit Superpole result since Estoril 2024, when he was third. It’s his best dry-weather Superpole result for Yamaha (P1 at Assen, P3 at Estoril both came in the wet).
4 – Four points between Razgatlioglu and Bulega in the title fight is the second-smallest margin in the three-race era. The smallest is 0, when ‘El Turco’ was tied with Rea in 2021 after the visit to Navarra.
3-3 – Razgatlioglu became the first rider to claim three hat-tricks at one venue, repeating his 2022 and 2024 success at Donington.
